Returns & Refunds

Everything we make is made for one person, from one photograph, so this is not an ordinary returns policy. Here is exactly what we replace free, what we cannot take back, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Damaged? We remake it

Free, reshipped, and you are not asked to post the broken one back.

30 days on the print

Banding, streaks, a colour cast or a crooked stretch and we redo it.

Refunded in 2 days

Back to the card you paid with, then five to ten days at your bank.

Made for one person

Change of mind is limited once it exists — but talk to us anyway.

The short version

If we got it wrong, we fix it — free, without asking you to post anything back. If the photograph or the size was not what you hoped for, we will always talk to you, but a personalised item that is exactly what was ordered cannot go back on a shelf.

Why made-to-order is different

Nothing here is stocked. When you order, your photograph is printed onto that specific canvas, cut into that specific puzzle, or matched to that specific set of drill colours. There is no second customer for a canvas of your family, so a change-of-mind return cannot be resold and is not something we can accept as a matter of course.

That is also why we check every photograph by hand before we print, and email you if it will not look good at the size you chose. We would rather delay your order by a day than send you something you are disappointed by.

Not sure about a photo? Ask firstSend it to us before you order and we will tell you honestly what it will look like at each size. That costs you nothing and saves both of us a return.

Damaged, faulty or wrong

This is the part we make easy. If an item arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from what you ordered, we remake and reship it at no cost — or refund you in full, whichever you prefer.

What we need from you:

  1. Your order number — it looks like CV-100001 and is in your confirmation email.
  2. Photographs of the item showing the problem.
  3. A photograph of the outer box, if it was damaged in transit.

Send those to support@canvas4seasons.com or through the contact form. You will not be asked to pay return postage, and in almost every case you will not be asked to send the item back at all.

Please report damage within 14 daysCarriers give us a limited window to file a claim. After 14 days from delivery we can usually still help, but we may no longer be able to recover the cost from the carrier — so tell us as soon as you open the box.

Print quality

Separately from transit damage, we stand behind the print itself for 30 days. If you find banding, streaking, a colour cast, a crooked stretch or a fault in the finish, send us a photograph and we will remake it.

What this does not cover is the source photograph. A picture that is small, blurry, heavily compressed or taken in poor light will print exactly as blurry as it is — printing cannot add detail that was never captured. This is the single most common reason a customer is disappointed, and it is why we review every image before printing.

Colour and appearance

Screens emit light; canvas reflects it. Two screens rarely agree with each other, and no screen agrees exactly with ink on cotton. Small differences in warmth, contrast and saturation between what you saw on your phone and what arrives in the box are normal and are not a fault.

Also normal, and not grounds for a replacement on their own:

  • Slight variation in the grain and tone of natural wood frames — no two pieces are identical.
  • A few millimetres of variance in trimmed size.
  • Visible canvas texture in flat areas of colour.
  • Resin drill colour reading slightly differently in daylight and lamplight.

If the difference is more than slight — a green cast, a face gone orange — that is a print fault and it is covered. Send a photo and we will judge it fairly.

Cancelling or changing an order

Because production starts quickly, the window is short but it is real:

Order stageCan you change it?Can you cancel it?
Order receivedYes — address, size, photoYes, full refund
Checked by a personUsually — ask straight awayYes, full refund
In productionNoNo — it is already being made
On its wayNoNo

You can see which stage your order is at on the tracking page or in your account. To change or cancel, email us with your order number — the faster you write, the more we can do.

How refunds work

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. We issue them within two business days of agreeing the refund; how long it then takes to appear is up to your bank, and is usually five to ten business days.

  • A full refund includes anything you paid for shipping protection.
  • We cannot refund to a different card or account than the one used to pay.
  • If your order was placed with a Groupon voucher, the voucher itself is refunded by Groupon under their terms, not by us. Anything you paid us on top — a frame, a larger size, a second item — is refunded by us as normal.

Digital portraits

Hand-painted watercolour, texture oil and memorial portraits are digital files, delivered by email. Once the finished file has been sent it cannot be returned, so we handle these through revisions instead:

  • Two rounds of revisions are included — tell us what to change and we will redo it.
  • If we have not started work, you can cancel for a full refund.
  • If the file we sent does not match the brief, we will either fix it or refund it in full.

Not receiving the email is not a lost order. Check your spam folder, then write to us and we will resend it.

What we cannot accept

To be straightforward about the limits:

  • Change-of-mind returns on a personalised item that arrived exactly as ordered, once it has been made.
  • Damage caused after delivery — hanging accidents, damp, direct sunlight over time, pets, or a puzzle that has been assembled and taken apart.
  • Disappointment traceable to the resolution or quality of the photograph supplied.
  • Orders where the address given was incomplete or wrong, beyond one free reshipment.
  • Reports made well outside the windows above, where the carrier claim has expired.

None of this affects your statutory rights. If your local consumer law gives you more than this policy does, that law wins — write to us and we will apply it.
